Biography
Moritz is an Associate with the Climate Econometrics project at Nuffield College and the Smith School for Enterprise and the Environment.
His research, under the supervision of Prof Cameron Hepburn and Prof Sir David Hendry, focused on the macro-econometric estimation of climate impacts. Further research interests include spatial econometrics and remote-sensing.
Moritz holds a degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science and an MSc from Oxford’s Environmental Change Institute. Before continuing his studies at Oxford, he worked for the Austrian government and coordinated the activities in international environmental negotiations associated with Austria’s Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2018 (with a focus on climate, biodiversity, whaling and governance negotiations). He is currently undertaking the Einstein International Postdoctoral Fellowship at Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research and Technical University Berlin.
