INET Oxford Research Talks - "Building scalable ABMs of markets using ScalABM" David Pugh

ScalABM is a project to develop open-source, scalable, data-driven, and reproducible agent-based models (ABMs) of economic systems using

cutting edge "Big Data" technologies such as Akka, Cassandra, Scala, and Spark.  Current work on ScalABM is focused on developing an
open-source, scalable market microstructure simulator. This "markets-sandbox" will serve not only as a simulator for studying price dynamics generated by real-world market microstructures, but also as a laboratory for building and studying new forms of market microstructures. This talk will provide an overview of the vision behind the ScalABM project, particularly the market-sandbox, before diving into a model of the London Stock Exchange.
