With Hungary and Poland vetoing the European Union's budget and Covid-19 recovery fund, INET’s founder George Soros argues that the case for issuing perpetual bonds has never been stronger.

While the EU cannot currently issue perpetual bonds itself, Soros argues that many of its member states can and should, since doing so could free them from fiscal paralysis, allowing them to provide vital health care and to resuscitate the economy.
