Dr Inge van den Bijgaart
Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, University of Gothenburg
Inge is currently an Assistant Professor at Department of Economics at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. She holds a PhD in Economics from Tilburg University in the Netherlands, which was completed under the supervision of Prof. Sjak Smulders and Prof. Reyer Gerlagh.
Key areas of research include environmental and public economics, with a particular focus on climate policy and the energy transition. The transition towards a more sustainable economy is naturally a slow process, and will require changes on the producer side through innovation and adoption of alternative production methods, and on the consumer side through changes in consumption patterns and preferences. Inge’s research focuses on such changes, and the appropriate policy tools to achieve them.
