Biography
Klaus Friesenbichler is the Deputy Director of the Supply Chain Intelligence Institute Austria (ASCII) and a Senior Economist at the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO), where he is part of the research group “Industrial, Innovation, and International Economics”. His research explores production networks and their dynamics, economic integration, and industrial policy. His recent work is interdisciplinary, integrating economics, management science, and data science. He aims at bridging the gap between applied academic research and policy consultancy. He is a former World Bank staff member and has provided consultancy services to various national and international institutions, including the EU, OECD, and World Bank.
