Biography

Simona is a DPhil student at the School of Geography and the Environment under the supervision of Dr Christian Brand and Dr Linus Mattauch. She is affiliated with both the Transport Studies Unit and Institute for New Economic Thinking. Her research explores the effectiveness of policies encouraging people to walk and cycle more for the purposes of travel, with a particular interest in reducing carbon emissions and improving people’s physical health. Her research combines economic theory, statistical analysis of panel data, and spatial analysis at small scales. She holds a BA in Land Economy from the University of Cambridge, and an MPhil in Environmental Change and Management from the University of Oxford.
