Dr Vilhelm Verendel
Vilhelm Verendel is an academic visitor/postdoctoral researcher from 2017 to 2018, focused on developing methods to predict traffic congestion in several cities around the world.
Current research interests include predicting congestion in cities using real-time traffic data. The primary methods are machine learning and geographical information systems programming to handle large data sets. Past research includes evolutionary models of cooperation and agent-based modeling, applied to issues such as climate negotiations.
Vilhelm Verendel studied computer science, complex systems and philosophy at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, and received his PhD in complex systems from Chalmers University, Gothenburg in 2016.
