David Weisstanner is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Social Policy and Intervention (DSPI) and the Institute for New Economic Thinking (INET) at the University of Oxford. He is also affiliated with Nuffield College as an associated member. As part of the Oxford Martin Programme on Inequality and Prosperity, led by Prof. Brian Nolan, he works on the consequences of trends in income and living standards on political preferences and voting behaviour.
In 2018, David has obtained his PhD in political science at the University of Bern. His research focuses on the political causes and consequences of economic inequality in Western democracies since the 1980s. He is interested broadly in comparative politics, comparative political economy, social policy and labour market policy. For further information, please see his website.
