Xiyu Ren

Biography

Xiyu is a DPhil candidate at the School of Geography and the Environment and INET Oxford under the supervision of Prof. Cameron Hepburn and Dr François Lafond. Her current areas of research are in energy transition, innovation, environmental policies and sustainable finance. She is mainly interested in using applied econometrics, along with some econometric theory to facilitate empirical models and practice.

Xiyu holds an MPhil in Finance and Economics funded by St John's College at University of Cambridge and a bachelor's degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Manchester. She has been a part-time research assistant at the Centre for the Study of Existential Risk (CSER), University of Cambridge and a summer research intern at the University of Manchester on urban economics, complex systems and sustainable development.
