The Wealth Project - jointly with Citi and the Rothschild Foundation - seeks to develop and advance national wealth accounting as an accompanying metric to GDP. While GDP continues to be useful as a short-term tool, it needs to be complemented by a wealth measure that takes stock of the total economic value of a country's capital assets, not least the human and natural assets of the nation. National wealth provides a vital guide for longer-term decision making. The project brings together leading economists, practitioners and decision-makers in building both consensus and momentum.
