Abstract:
This study addresses a comparative analysis of four militant research works developed in the Platform of People Affected by Mortgages (PAH). Based on the experience of six researchers, the academic dilemma between research and participation in the study entity itself is analyzed. The authors expose the way in which they faced the ethical challenges born of the encounter between two worlds ― academia and activism ― and the way in which they balanced both loyalties in their research. As a result of collective reflection, this work explores the challenges and potentialities of conducting research on PAH and in synergy with PAH and opens the way to subsequent analysis of work developed in other social movements and other contexts.
