Abstract:
Improbable Worlds Ltd has recently entered into a "strategic partnership" with Google and is now building a platform for scientific simulation that will allow the user to use effectively unlimited cloud compute resources to simulate billions of entities and assimilate peta-scale data in real time. I'll be describing our platform, talking about the challenges we face in making this a reality and describing the solutions we have come up with. Don't expect lots of pretty pictures, the challenges and solutions are difficult and technical and I won't be dumbing it down so bring a strong cup of coffee.
