Status Report on Creative Destruction in Some if the Worlds Major Nations – Schumpeter’s great early 20th insight into the nature of social and economic progress (and turmoil) is as accurate as ever, now much more measurable than in was when Schumpeter first penned it early in the 20th century. The measures of the rates of creative destruction in various countries ( the US, Britain, China, Japan, Korea, Brazil) raise management and policy issues for business leaders, investors, politicians and diplomats. This lecture will provide an update on the state of “creative destruction” in various countries and present frameworks for thinking about the issues raised.
