Biography
Alexandre Fries is a visiting master’s student at the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment, University of Oxford, under the supervision of Dr François Lafond. His research interests are part of the Forecasting Technological Change programme, with a focus on emerging technologies. His current work aims to collect and structure data in order to construct experience curves and better understand the dynamics of technological progress.
Alexandre is an engineering student at ESPCI Paris, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science and is expected to receive a Master of Science. In September 2026, he will begin a double-degree programme at Mines Paris – PSL to become an engineer of Mines Paris. Alongside his scientific and engineering training, he also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Université Paris Dauphine – PSL. He also studied econophysics at École Polytechnique with Dr Michael Benzaquen and Dr Ruben Zakine.
