Piloting a job guarantee scheme for long-term unemployed people | ESRC Celebrating Impact Prize 2023

Abstract:

Employment boosting interventions are being rolled out across Austria after a successful job-guarantee scheme pilot in the Austrian town of Marienthal. In this film, hear how University of Oxford doctoral researcher Lukas Lehner collaborated with the Austrian Public Employment Service to design and pilot a universal job guarantee scheme. Lukas was the winner of the Outstanding Early Career Impact award at the ESRC Celebrating Impact Prize 2023. The prize, now in its 11th year, is an annual opportunity to recognise the success of ESRC-funded researchers in achieving and enabling outstanding economic or societal impact from their research.
