Biography
Elena Lickel is a DPhil student in Computer Science at the University of Oxford and a member of the Complexity Economics group at INET Oxford. Supervised by Prof Michael Wooldridge and Prof Anisoara Calinescu in the Machine Learning & AI group, her research sits at the intersection of computational economics and machine learning. Elena works mainly on agent-based models with the aim of understanding how policy rules and market design shape macro-financial dynamics and systemic risk. She also explores reinforcement-learning approaches for adaptive agents.
Before her doctorate, Elena completed an MSc in Business Analytics at Imperial College Business School and a BSc in Economics at IE University, including an exchange at the University of Melbourne. She has industry experience with McKinsey and EY.
