Biography

Jan Meyerhoff-Liang is a Research Associate of Prof Eric Beinhocker at the Institute for New Economic Thinking and Blavatnik School of Government. Jan completed his PhD in economics of innovation at University College Dublin, Ireland, and a MA in economic geography at Leibniz University of Hanover, Germany. His PhD research has focused on the product space approach (and technology space) in regional economic development, particularly concerning the medical device industry. Currently, Jan supports Prof. Beinhocker’s work on equity, progress, and sustainability. Jan researches the transition to clean energy as well as innovation in the electric vehicle industry. His main areas of interest are development economics, the foundations of economics; and how public policy can promote entrepreneurship and innovation in industries related to sustainable transportation and healthcare. Moreover, Jan works on accessibility in data science and econometrics for visually impaired people.
