Biography
Jose Espí is a part-time DPhil student at the Institute for New Economic Thinking (INET) at the University of Oxford. Jose is undertaking research with Pete Barbrook-Johnson and Doyne Farmer on the topic of plastics sustainability transition. Specifically, his research focus is on accelerating the transition in the petrochemical industry towards low-carbon plastics and on forecasting costs of emerging polymer technologies.
Jose
is also the CEO & Co-Founder of BZERO, a startup dedicated to the
development and production of new advanced bioplastics. He is highly interested
in scaling up operations of new bioplastic technology to compete in cost with
conventional fossil plastics, aiming to bridge academia and industry.
