Marcela Lopes Alves

Biography

Marcela L. Alves is a DPhil candidate at the Department of Computer Science and INET.

She is interested in the interdisciplinary topics of Complex Systems, Systems Engineering and Computational Modelling.

Marcela holds an MSc from the Institute of Mathematical and Computer Sciences (University of Sao Paulo - Brazil) and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the Farias Brito University Centre in Brazil, with exchange studies at the Arizona State University (US).

Prior to starting her doctoral studies, she worked as a Research Software Engineer for the Modernising Medical Microbiology (MMM) group at the University of Oxford (Nuffield Department of Medicine), at imec (Interuniversitair Micro-Electronica Centrum) in Belgium, and at the Ceara State University - Dell Research, Development and Innovation Center in Brazil.
