Biography
Parth Goel is a DPhil student at the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment (SSEE) and the Institute of New Economic Thinking (INET). He is interested in the role of government interventionism in accelerating the energy transition, with a focus on how landmark investments, such as the Inflation Reduction Act in the US, can catalyse low-carbon development.
Parth’s research focuses on green policies and energy subsidy reforms in the Global South and employs both econometric and new-generation economic modelling methods. Alongside his DPhil, Parth is a Research Assistant in the Climate Compatible Growth programme and works at S&P Global in London, as part of the European power markets expertise.
Prior to his doctoral studies, Parth spent 3 years with leading energy policy consultancies including Aurora Energy Research in Oxford. He holds a Master’s in Management from London Business School where he was a merit scholar, and a Bachelor of Technology from Delhi Technological University where he earned the Distinguished Researcher Award.
