Biography

Jonas is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Calleva Research Centre at Magdalen College and a member of Climate Econometrics, Nuffield College at the University of Oxford. He completed his undergraduate degree in Economics and Business Administration (BSc) at the University of Tübingen in Germany, before moving to the United Kingdom to pursue his MPhil and DPhil in Economics at the University of Oxford. His research is centred on econometrics, with a particular focus on the detection of outliers and structural breaks in cross-sectional and time series regression models.

During his postdoctoral research, Jonas uses econometric methods to explore the interaction between economic activity, climate policy, and climate change. His focus is on providing insights to policymakers, including improving forecasts of the effects of climate policies on greenhouse gas emissions and examining the employment impacts of the net-zero transition. He is also working on methodologies for synthesising existing evidence on the effectiveness of climate policies through meta-analyses.
